A second Royal Occasion
HBW’s care home project in North Brickhill, Bedford is officially opened by Her Royal Highness, The Countess of Wessex on 17 January 2012. HBW was proud to be in attendance at this royal occasion to recognise such a special project. Our best wishes are extended to The Ibbett Trust without whom the project would not have been conceived.

Senior Promotions
Jolyon Watson is promoted to Senior Associate and Paul Connelly and Dave Roberts are promoted to Associate as of 1 January 2012. Congratulations to all three surveyors – these promotions are well deserved and recognise their valuable contributions to the practice.

One of HBW’s projects wins award
Futures Community College announced as Outright Winner of Southend on Sea Borough Council’s Annual Design Awards for 2011 as well as receiving an Award in the New Build category. The panel of assessors concluded that “this new college building was of exceptional design quality and that every aspect of the building from the overall vision to the smallest detail had been carefully considered and fully integrated into the design”. They also commended the project on the sustainability and public safety aspects of the design and noted that the building has clearly had a positive effect on the pupils which of course was its primary aim.
